Spirited Discussion About Life in Cabarrus County, North Carolina

Positive Messages: From Chairman Carruth - Vote for Jay, Grace, and The Republican Team

November 6th, 2006 by Justin Thibault · No Comments

There has been a lot of press about Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners Chairman Bob Carruth maybe supporting a Democrat in lieu of Coy Privette. What he does in the ballot box is his business, just as what you do is yours. However, he’s working hard to put Republicans who’ll work towards a better Cabarrus County in office. For those who are still skeptical - try to find the name of a Democrat in this e-mail:

There are many challenges facing Cabarrus County over the next four years. Although we as a board of commissioners have made great progress toward managing growth, providing for alternative ways to fund schools other than your property taxes, and providing for your public safety needs in the community, we face even bigger challenges, and many changes, as we begin to feel the impact on our community from the NC Research Center.

For this reason, you need a board of commissioners that thinks like, and acts like business people. For this reason, I can without reservation ask that you support both Jay White and Grace Mynatt when you vote on November 7th. Both of them have the experience, business savvy, and wisdom that it takes to see through the rhetoric that often clouds the local political scene to make decisions that will benefit our community in the months and years to come, and have ran good, positive campaigns focused on the issues, not on the people running, or their political adversaries. They will make a good team to join our board, as we face the challenges we will face over the next several years.

In addition to these candidates, I ask also that you support Senator Fletcher Hartsell in his re-election bid, and also cast a vote of support for Rep. Jeff Barnhart and Rep. Linda Johnson, even though they face no opposition this fall.

Just as important is who you will support for judge. I ask that you support Rusty Duke for Chief Justice of the NC Supreme Court, and Anna Marie Calabria and Mark Martin for associate justice.

Finally, with a son that has just enlisted in the Army, my worst nightmare is to have a congress controlled by those that want to cut and run from our obligations overseas, and not be totally committed to the War on Terror. Please remember that every vote counts, and please remember to vote for Robin Hayes for re-election to his US district 8 seat.

If you have already voted, then I say thank you. If you haven’t yet, please don’t forget about the 7th. Take someone with you. ITS YOUR RIGHT!!!!!
