Spirited Discussion About Life in Cabarrus County, North Carolina

The Friday Five

March 23rd, 2007 by Justin Thibault · No Comments

This week’s Friday Five is a list of the top five things to put on your calendar.  But first, if you’re going to go to any of these events - make sure you look as nice as John Edwards.  Trust me - watch the whole thing…this will be the funniest 2 minutes you spend all dayMake sure your sound is on.

Here are the top five things you should put on your calendar:

5. April 8, 2007: That’s Easter Sunday.  If you don’t have a church you regularly attend, The Refuge (the church I go to) will be celebrating Easter at the Embassy Suites at 10AM Easter Sunday.  You can go here for more details.

4. April 21, 2007: At 8AM on a Saturday, you should run or walk 5,000 meters (about 3 miles and change).  OK, at 8AM on a Saturday, you should run or walk 5,000 meters (about 3 miles and change) to benefit Jeff Gordon’s Children’s Hospital.  You can find out more about the race at 5k4kids.com.

3. Tomorrow: I plan to have my e-mail signup fixed and you can get your Cheap Seats updates again.  The old provider is on an “extended maintenance period” which means they are going out of business.

2. Monday, March 26: The Kannapolis City Council will be holding public hearings on at 6:20PM Macedonia Church Road and Trinity Church Road closings; and around 7:40PM to 9:00PM will be talking about long-range planning and a presentation on the NCRC.  But if you want to make a difference, skip the Kannapolis City Council Meeting and go to…

1. Monday, March 26: The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners will start their meeting at 6:30PM and near the top of the agenda is a public comment period where people can bring their questions, comments, concerns, etc. to the BOC.  If you can be there Monday - be there.  Your voice needs to be heard.

See y’all Monday
