This will be the first of the regular Cabarrus Board of Commissioners meetings where the public is asked specifically about the County’s role in the NCRC. The participation of the County is crucial to the success of the project.
The meeting will be at 6:30PM and the Cabarrus County Governmental Center [click here for directions].
I’ll be there early and you should, too! Make sure to go and show your support!

Only twenty minutes were allotted for TIF public comments. Such a minuscule allotment speaks volumes doesn’t it?
It’s obvious the jail project is all consuming for the county and it’s people.
Cabarrus should have considered privatization (outsourcing) the jail.

The jail project is consuming the people who live within a 6 block radius of the site. I’m sure a scientific poll would prove that most people in the County would just as soon have the County move on with the project…especially if they knew of the details of the mediation where the County offered to cut the height of the jail by 1/3.
As for outsourcing jails - there’s a pretty sketchy record there.
