I was busy this weekend, and there’s no video for this one; but here are the top five reasons you should run/walk in the 5K for Kids race this weekend.
5. You find it remarkably clever that I managed to work in 5K in to a Top Five List. OK, it’s sheer coincidence; but it’s cool nonetheless.
4. You won’t have to worry about bicyclists. You can run or walk the course. Bikes won’t be allowed. You also won’t be able to drive your SUV while eating a Bojangles’ super-sized meal…I asked.
3. It’ll be nice. 74F and Sunny in April. You can’t beat that.
2. You can walk the course. I’m out of shape and I’ve been a little under the weather lately (correlation isn’t causation; but it makes one wonder) - I’ll be walkin’.
Finally.
1. It benefits the Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital at Northeast Medical Center. I’m having a hard time thinking of a better cause.
The race starts Saturday, 8AM, at Penny Lane (just north of Carolina Mall) in Concord. (click here for a map) See y’all out there.
