I’d wanted to do this when I got back from my recent hiatus for the Friday Five. Then again, it was more fun messing with y’all two weeks ago with my “big news” story. Anyhow, you probably will find this too sappy, sanctimonious, silly, and never visit here again. Then again, you might find it pretty cool.
I’ve been frequently admonished to count my blessings. So, I thought I’d do that for today’s Friday Five. Here are 5 blessings in my life…in no particular order
A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life…
…She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
- Selections from Proverbs 31 (NIV)
Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from him. - Proverbs 17:17 (NIV)
Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day. Psalms 139:13-16 (The Message)
Friends love through all kinds of weather,
and families stick together in all kinds of trouble. - Proverbs 17:17 (The Message)

...yes, if you care to read this far YOU are probably in the image]
For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations - Psalms 100:5 (NIV)

See y’all Monday.

Yeah it was sappy, but sometimes it’s good to remember who and what is really important in life.
I’m just glad I didn’t have to share a space in that mosaic with Robin Hayes. Thanks!
