Cabarrus Cheap Seats

The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners can’t fire Coy Privette; but they will take the following action per this statement read at yesterday’s agenda meeting:

Over the past two months, we have been drawn in to the issues involving Commissioner Privette.  During this time, each of us believed that it was proper for Commissioner Privette to handle his criminal charges without our involvement.  Since our last meeting he appeared in court and pled guilty to six counts of aiding and abetting prostitution.

Last week we requested that he step down as a Commissioner because his lack of judgment threatens the integrity of this Board.  Therefore, I am going to ask for the following actions to occur:

That our county attorney report to this board at our September 17^th meeting as to what actions can be taken in this matter.  These actions may include, but should not be limited to:

(1) Removal of Commissioner Privette from all boards and committees in the community that he has been appointed to by this Board. 

(2) Removal of Commissioner Privette from county departments, boards, or municipalities to which he has been serving as a liaison.

(3) Restrict and prohibit from Commissioner Privette from officially representing this Board at any out of county conference, seminar, or other event.

(4) Outline what needs to be done to censure Commissioner Privette.

Once we have this report, we need to take the appropriate action in order to move forward in conducting the business of the County.
