Next week starts another season of TV.

So, we can leave our hectic schedules of activities with our families and community involvement and adopt a hectic schedule of being glued to the tube.

For this week’s Friday Five - I’m sharing five good videos about TV.

5. Network (4 min).

OK, this wasn’t a TV show; but a movie about TV. However, this classic monologue is as appropriate now as it was 30 years ago.

4. The Office (50 sec).

This is my favorite scene from The Office. The Office is the best repackaged cultural import ever.

3. My Name Is Earl (2 min)

The Brokeback Mountain edition.

2. House MD (3:45)

Another Brokeback edition. Apparently, if you get enough footage of two guys you can do a Brokeback Edition of anything.

I’m amazed that something hasn’t been done with the presidential debates; but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.

1. Lost (8 min; but for Lost fans it’s worth it…believe me)

“In 1964, a dramatic TV series called ‘Lost on Gilligan’s Island’ was filmed. Since it was too dark for a 1960s audience it was retooled as a slapstick comedy called ‘Gilligan’s Island’. Four decades later, the ABC network remade ‘Lost on Gilligan’s Island’, this time remaining true to the original dramatic vision. The 2004 remake was titled simply ‘Lost’.” (HT: Evangelical Outpost)

See y’all Monday.
