Guest Speaker: CATHY HEATH Founder, STOP -NC- ANNEXATION
Meeting Time: 7PM
Place: Troutman’s BBQ on US601 Bypass [CLICK HERE FOR DIRECTIONS]
Come early for $7 BBQ Buffet and to meet the people who just might be helping to pick Coy’s replacement. That’s right, even though North Carolina Law is very explicit about the process, Coy Privette thinks that the Executive Board of the Cabarrus Republican Men’s Club should make the recommendation instead.
Coy’s “alternate process” would be rather convienent for him for a couple of reasons:
First: Privette is the second-highest ranking member of the Executive Board of the Cabarrus GOP Men’s Club. He would have a vote in his own replacement. Coy Privette was nominated to be a voting member of the Cabarrus County GOP Executive Board during the convention; but failed to secure enough votes. Instead, he maintained his current GOP Men’s Club post in a “controlled” election.
Second: During the 2006 election cycle, the Cabarrus County Republican Men’s Club has only contributed to one candidate - Coy Privette. A $1,000 contribution (which was more than a third of the entire operating budget for the 2006 election cycle) was made to the Coy Privette for County Commissioner campaign only two days after the last campaign finance reporting deadline before the 2006 election [CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE REPORT]. Just in time to help finance an ad that some would consider an act of party disloyality; but late enough to only have to reveal to the voters two months after the election.
The question I have for my fellow GOP Men’s club members and officers (yes, I am the Treasurer in spite of efforts by Coy and his cronies to fix the election) is this:
Will the Cabarrus Republican Men’s Club join with the all-Republican Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners, the local party, and the state party in urging Coy Privette to step down from the Board of Commissioners and VP of Programs for the Cabarrus County Republican Men’s Club; or will this organization remain servile to the will of a convicted sex criminal?

You might wind up disappionted.
I know that the Executive Board members with internet access visit this blog (Coy does weekly) to keep tabs on me.
I doubt they have the guts to respond here (or anywhere for that manner), and I don’t plan on raising a fuss at the meeting.
3 Cabarrus Cheap Seats - Privette Abandons His Own Proposal - Proposes Freeman As Successor // Oct 19, 2007 at 8:59 am
[...] Earlier this year, Coy Privette was arrested and convicted of six counts of aiding and abetting prostitution. The State and Local GOP have both demanded his immediate and unconditional resignation. Coy’s move to name Robert Freeman is different from a previous “mediation” plan to have a committee that would be named by the Cabarrus GOP Men’s Club Executive Board to interview candidates. Many questioned the GOP Mens Club’s role as a “mediator” given that Coy Privette holds the #2 position on the GOP Men’s Club Executive Board. His influence over the former leadership of the GOP Men’s Club Executive Board was obvious given that they gave all they could to his 2006 campaign while ignoring all other candidates. In addition to all of that, many feel that the last election of officers followed rules you might find in Cuba as they held secret meetings to alter the membership rules that they announced at the time of the election.
