Cabarrus Cheap Seats

During my time off, I did some work to make this blog run a little better.

The first thing, I fixed the Be Heard form.  I noticed that during the “upgrade” some of the settings went to a very strict default that didn’t allow guests to post.  I also checked the log and saw that a number of you tried; but were unable to make any new posts.

I’ve fixed it.  Please feel free to submit your own posts to the Cheap Seats.

Here are some other changes I made since I wasn’t busy writing posts:

• I made the sidebar (the area to the right) a bit less cluttered by moving the E-mail and RSS subscription information and archives to separate pages, and I have this neat little tree for the categories.
• I added a page that displays the latest post for each category
• I got the “e-mail a post” link working again
• I’ve added a feature that will show the latest post in each category in each post - just so you know you’re looking at the latest one (more for people who stumble in here; but it’s neat anyway)
• The contact form isn’t as weird.
• I’m going to see if the “People who visited this page, also viewed…” plugin will work.  It’s given me problems in the past.

Also, RSS subscribers and e-mail subscribers might have gotten a flood of posts.  Sorry about that, I was screwing around with the database of posts and Wordpress must have set some flag that everything is new.
