Friday is the last day to file; but let’s see what’s happened lately:
- The incumbents (Charles Mitchell & Doris Buchanan) for the two open Kannapolis School Board seats are up for reelection
- Holly Blackwelder gives the GOP a shot at a complete ticket for County Commissioner.
Alright, Cheap Seats fans - let’s hear some predictions. Will Jeff Barnhart have opposition from the Dems? Will the GOP run a candidate for Register of Deeds and/or the second commissioner slot?
Check out the updates here.

Linda is hoping that Rick Starns run against her again and so am I. Linda has done a wonderful job as register of deeds. I will continue to cross party lines and vote for her.

The comedic value of a Ric Starnes campaign knows no party lines.
Regardless, here’s to a strong opposition showing from Mr. Troutman.
It’s about time these GOP seats went opposed, with a solid line-up of candidates.
Now all we need is a place to hide these closet-libertarians. Suggestions?

There is nothing wrong with a little competition in the County Races. Thats what the two party system is all about. Wayne Troutman is well known in Cabarrus County. So is Ric Starns. Gene Morris will be stiff competition for Linda in the Register of Deeds Race. The rest of the Democrats have got a tuff row to hoe but I wouldn’t take anyone lightly in this year of Obama and Clinton.
