The more you know (the more scared you should be)

I’ve been out of law enforcement now for almost four years. I know this because my ex-partner on the force and I have an annual golf outing to celebrate our freedom from the geniusry of the law enforcement system in North Carolina.
I don’t stay in contact with many of my former partners at the department because I’m lazy but when I see them around I always stop to chat for a few minutes. It was at a recent outing with the kids that I ran into an old co-worker who’s still with the department and we got to talking about the “good ol’ days.” [Read more →]

Could this be the wave of the future?

Every day I scan all my favorite blogs. This one gets much more attention than most due to it’s lively discussions. More and more often I find myself surfing the blog search engines looking for anything that strikes me as interesting but I’ve begun to notice a trend. A trend that Justin, this blog’s proprietor, seems to be picking up on ahead of the crowd.
I too have a blog. It’s my corner of the web to rant and rave about whatever interests me. These day’s I run into people who give me their blog address instead of their e-mail address or phone number. Black in Back

Well, it is finally over. Jim Black has been convicted and sentenced in both Federal and North Carolina Courts and is in the back of the bus headed for Pennsylvania and the Federal Pokey.
While no one knows exactly how much damage the Decker/Black conspiracy did to the state of North Carolina, it is very clear that the peoples trust in their elected officials is all but in ruins.
When we KNOW that our state is up for sale to the highest bidder, even the most optimistic are left in dismay. Furthermore, when our remaining officials do nothing to curtail further actions like those committed by Prisoner Black, it is all the more difficult to find a reason to pull ones self out of bed on election day and head to the polls.
But we must…
