The Truth v. Harold Smith XV: Why, Why, Why Not?
November 10th, 2006 · 1 Comment
I was going to get the exact numbers; but left my copy of the Concord Standard at work. Anyhow, the Jay White campaign, according to the paper, spent about $54,000. But Jay White himself didn’t spend $54,000, as Harold claimed. Check this out.
According to campaign reports, Jay White has already spent $54,000 in his campaign [...]

2006 Cabarrus County Election Day Followup
November 8th, 2006 · Comments Off
The results in Cabarrus County weren’t too shocking. The Commissioners race followed the 2002 pattern - the Moderates lead while the Cabarrus Taxpayers’ Association candidates came in behind them. The CTA candidates get enough votes to win; but not enough to declare a mandate…even though they will.
I got to meet a lot of new folks [...]

November 6th, 2006 · Comments Off
There has been a lot of press about Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners Chairman Bob Carruth maybe supporting a Democrat in lieu of Coy Privette. What he does in the ballot box is his business, just as what you do is yours. However, he’s working hard to put Republicans who’ll work towards a better Cabarrus [...]

I wrote a letter to the editor endorsing Liz Poole and I’d like to share it with y’all. Often, we forget about the School Board candidates at the bottom of the ballot. However, they make important decisions regarding the spending of our taxes and the education of our children.
Here’s the letter about Liz:

Grace Mynatt will get my vote tomorrow in a small part because she supported the Interbasin Transfer in a very itneresting way. When she was speaking at the State hearing about this she took out a gallon jug and a cup that was about one ounce. What’s interesting is that she was close (like three [...]

There are only a few days left until the election. As you are aware this year’s election is extremely important to our local government. We are voting to elect three commissioners to a board made up of five commissioners’ seats. We are electing a majority of board members [...]
